there's no place like home there's no place like home there's no place like home unless of course you're getting ready to retire then that's different Pirates Cove Marina they're willing to play ball and that's a good sign this place is so flippin cute. thinking about a vacation-home second home maybe just a retired community don't ya just love Florida so hello if you're new here welcome my name is Lisa Ammons and I share information on Treasure Coast Florida living and our great neighborhoods so if you're kicking around a trip to Florida or possibly relocating you should consider subscribing to this channel you know it's always fun to learn more about what's happening down here in beautiful South Florida so there's all kinds of information on the internet and as a professional that sells real estate here in Florida I like to stay on top of all the news that's happening which brings me to my next topic of this video retirement lured by better weather lower taxes or just a better quality of life many people are considering relocating to another state states like Florida and as it so happens US News and World Report recently determined the best places to retire they use criteria such as affordable housing taxes health care and overall quality of life they gathered this data from the Tax Foundation the Census Bureau and the Bureau of Labor and Statistics and guess what Florida claimed four of the top ten spots and number five on the list was Port St. Lucie and since it's right in my backyard I thought I would share some highlights on why you might consider Port St.


Lucie for your future retirement so hit that like button if you're excited to dive right in if you don't know where Port st. Lucie is we're on the eastern seaboard of Florida nestled right in between Orlando and Miami about halfway and it's an area called the Treasure Coast so let's start off with the fun stuff St. Lucie River and our Atlantic beaches make exploring outdoors one of the area's favorite pastimes the St. Lucie River is a valuable resource for the Treasure Coast community and is used for many water sporting activities like boating and fishing the Treasure Coast region is surrounded by large bodies of waters such as the St.


Lucie River the Indian River and the Atlantic Ocean so if you love the water you will certainly enjoy spending time on the st. Lucie River this area of Florida caters to both anglers and boaters so you'll find an ample supply of marinas and public boat ramps paddle boarding and canoeing are also very popular but of course Florida is known for its beaches and it's a great way to start your morning now I understand that everyone is into water sports maybe you're into golfing in Port St. Lucie they have the PGA village with beautiful golf course designed by Tom Fazio and Pete Dye and of course there are many great public golf courses located right in Port Saint Lucie and for those of you who really love sports the New York Mets come here every year for spring training and you can cheer them on from the stadium right off of st. Lucie West Boulevard and here in the Treasure Coast you'll find we have lots of great parks you'll find the savannas preserve State Park a great place to hike and view nature the weather in Port st.


Lucie is sub- tropical which means you can basically sport flip-flop twelve months out of the year the population in Port Saint Lucie is approximately 195 thousand and the medium palm price is in the mid 250 thousand dollar range for active adults there is an ample supply of 55-plus communities in Port St Lucie offering beautiful homes great recreation and an excellent quality of life the best way to get around in Port St Lucie is by car there are individual neighborhoods that are often walkable with homes schools and shops clustered together like the neighborhood in western port St. Lucie called the Tradition I have a video on that which I'll put up in the corner for you for those without a car there is a bus line available the regularly scheduled Treasure Coast connector operates several routes connecting central port St.


Lucie to nearby Fort Pierce and Jensen Beach which is the home to the area's shopping mall many retirees will use uber or lyft as well Travel is easy from Port st. Lucie and many major Florida destinations are easily accessible using the interstate 95 and Florida's Turnpike the closest airport is Palm Beach International which is about 50 minutes from Port st. Lucie retirees are drawn to Port St. Lucie's warm climate low cost of living access to recreational waterways and the abundance of quality medical facilities in addition to this the Treasure Coast region has high quality schools and low crime rates which makes it very attractive to families as well if you would like to see some more videos about the Port St.
